MATH 1530 - Introductory Statistics
Introductory Statistics is designed to emphasize statistics as a decision-making tool and to introduce basic concepts of the discipline. The course includes: descriptive statistics; an introduction to probability; probability distributions; linear correlation and regression; and statistical inference and hypothesis testing. Lab will emphasize the uses of computer software and calculators for statistical analysis and assumes proficiency in basic computer skills. Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite: READ 0870; ACT Math Subscore of 19 or higher OR concurrently enrolled in MATH 0530 OR prior completion of all Learning Support Math requirements. Semester: Fall, Spring, Summer Note: * Course designed for transfer. Approved course for TBR/Northeast State’s General Education Core.
